‘Dawn Chorus’ came about during my first autumn in County Antrim.  I was fortunate enough to be able to spend time in the countryside, where the birds are everywhere.  These colours feel to me the way the birdsong and the dawn blend, the harmony of sound and colour.  It is a delight waiting for sunrise with a cup of coffee, and  watching birds awaken the sheep with song.  The painting was inspired by those happy mornings.
